About TDC Ventures Intelligence
What this is
A working scrap desk’s market intelligence, published. TDC Ventures trades ferrous and non-ferrous scrap into South Asia and the Middle East — the prices on this site are the prices our own cargoes live and die by. We publish our read of the market every day, our forecasts in advance, and our scorecard afterwards, hits and misses alike.
How we work
The price spine is physical. Every price on this site traces to a published print from a major price reporting agency (Fastmarkets, Kallanish, SteelOrbis), an official LME settlement, or an official statistic — never to rumour, never to a futures curve presented as a transaction, never to our own wishful thinking. Where publishers disagree, we show the disagreement instead of averaging it away.
Forecasts are declared before the data exists. Every forecast names its range, its central estimate, and exactly which published benchmarks will score it — in writing, before the target date, unchangeable afterwards. When the print lands, the call resolves: in range or out, direction right or wrong, error measured in dollars per tonne. Nothing is ever removed from the record. The full ledger is at Forecast Track Record.
Misses are published in full. Our worst calls appear on the same page as our best, with post-mortems. A desk that only shows wins is advertising; a desk that shows its losses and what they taught is doing analysis. We know of no competitor in this trade that publishes a scored record.
Context is labelled as context. Official statistics (UN Comtrade, national statistics offices, USGS, Worldsteel), exchange data, and structural research inform our analysis and are cited to their real sources. They never set a price and never resolve a forecast — only physical prints do.
How shipment notices enter a market note
The desk is piloting an internal news radar for UK Environment Agency announcements. An editor checks the original notice, its dates and the affected route before citing it in a market note. For the underlying shipment guidance, see the Environment Agency’s import and export guide.

What this is not
Not trading advice. Not a price reporting agency — we quote published benchmarks with attribution and add our own analysis; the underlying assessments belong to their publishers. Not affiliated with any publisher, exchange, or mill.
